Picture: Sky News WeatherA rain reprieve is on they way for Melbourne but not before a flood warning was issued for parts of the city due to rising river levels.After Melbourne’s wettest August day in more than 20 years, a moderate flood warning has been issued for the Yarra River.More than 25mm of rain fell in the city on Sunday, the highest 24-hour total since August 27, 1999, with falls reaching 32mm in the Dandenong Ranges.The weather bureau said the water levels of the Yarra and Watts rivers were rising at multiple locations in response to the rain, with more than 34mm falling in the upper parts of the catchment since 9am on Saturday.It said minor flooding would affect low-lying areas adjacent to the waterways, including bike paths, while the Melba Highway between Lilyponds Creek Bridge near Chateau Yering Historic House Hotel and Yarra Glen could get water flowing across the road on Monday.A flood warning has been issued for the Yarra River after heavy weekend falls.
